A WRITER will be appearing at a Bromsgrove venue as part of a UK tour of talks.

Michael Gray has written successful books The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia and Song and Dance Man III: The Art Of Bob Dylan and is touring the country to talk on the subject.

Michael wrote his first book on Bob Dylan's work in 1972 and has gone on to write several books with Song and Dance man earning its author the higher doctorate of Doctor of Letters from the University of York.

He will appearing at the Artrix Studio, in School Drive, from 7.30pm on Sunday, September 13.

His show is more than just a talk with Michael playing records and showing rare footage to trace how rock and roll arrived for the teenage Robert Zimmerman, how it moved to pop by the time Dylan was ready to launch his own career, and how it lured him back after his folksinging days.

Michael's has been in front of sell out audiences at previous shows held across the UK, Ireland and in America - where he had also performed at the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Michael said: "I never use notes or cue-cards. I’m aiming to offer an entertaining, fresh account of Dylan’s achievement and a revealing take on his roots in rock and roll."

The Artrix event will be Michael's first ever appearance in Bromsgrove.
