RESIDENTS are being invited to step into the enchanted world of Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR.

The show, complete with stunning costumes and spectacular special effects, is the culmination of two week's hard-work and rehearsals from local theatre company the Harlequins Drama Group.

It tells the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress.

If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out.

If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

The enchanting tale features songs from the Academy Award-winning animated feature, as well as music by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

The show, at the Palace Theatre, is on Saturday, August 15 at 2.30pm and again at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available in person or at the box office on 01527 65203 priced £12 (£10 discount and £40 family ticket) inclusive of booking fee 75p per ticket up to a maximum £3.
