A FILM tipped for the Oscars is among the line-up of screenings coming to the Artrix this month.

The new adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd stars Carey Mulligan who is hotly tipped for an Oscar win for her portrayal as Bathsheba.

Set against a backdrop of some stunning scenery, Bathsheba fights off suitors in this epic tale set in Thomas Hardy’s Wessex.

In a true story to commemorate this year’s anniversary of VE Day, A Royal Night Out relates how the Royal Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret disguised themselves and joined in the celebrations.

The British comedy-drama stars Sarah Gadon as the young Princess Elizabeth, who with Princess Margaret (Bel Powley) ventures out of Buckingham Palace to enjoy the VE Day celebrations.

Also, with the summer holidays just around the corner, the month rounds off with The Spongebob Movie.

Life is dandy in Bikini Bottom for SpongeBob Squarepants and his friends.

However, when the top-secret recipe for Krabby Patties is stolen, SpongeBob finds that he must join forces with perpetual adversary Plankton and come ashore to battle a fiendish pirate named Burger Beard (Antonio Banderas), who has his own plans for the delicious delicacies.
