FANS of BBC Radio 4's The Archers will be in for a treat when one of the soap's stars drops into Hanbury, which has close links to the long-running programme.

Sara Coward, who plays Caroline Sterling in the series, will be at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre's Animals R Magic event in Hanbury Road on Sunday, July 19 between 11am and 5pm.

St Margaret's Church in Hanbury has been used as St Stephen's Church, in the Archers' fictional village of Ambridge, in publicity shots.

Sara is described as a "passionate dog lover and owner" and will be supporting the Cinnamon Trust charity, which helps elderly and terminally ill people and their pets.

She has written a book entitled Dialogues with my Dog, which will be on sale during the day.

Animals R Magic, which is in its fourth year, raises money for the Cinnamon Trust and invites animal charities to bring along various beasts, including alpacas, llamas, ponies, rabbits, ferrets, dogs and birds.

The craft centre gardens and field will host impressive agility, gundog and flyball demonstrations, with plenty of activities throughout the day. Visitors can enter their pets in a novelty dog show and scurry and enjoy donkey rides and ferret racing.

There will be more than 40 charity and trade stalls, games and plenty of animals to meet.

Police mascot Peeler will be making a special appearance, as will Scruffts 2015 Winner, Gracie.

Trainee rescue dog Dyno will accompany search and rescue vehicles, including a rescue boat moored in the pond.

"I love animals and cannot wait for another fun packed family day to celebrate the joy animals bring to our lives," said Jinney Ring owner Amanda Sunter.

"It is a pleasure to be able to support charities like The Cinnamon Trust who do so much for the welfare of animals and people alike."

Entrance into Animals R Magic will cost £2 for adults and £1 for children.
