REDDITCH Operatic Society is urgently seeking men to take part in its next production – Calamity Jane at the Palace Theatre.

The company is currently short on men and need as many wild west cowboys as it can get for the show, set to take place later this year.

Kelly Johnson, committee member for the society, said: “Last year’s sell out production of Jesus Christ Superstar was amazing and as a group we aim to maintain our reputation of putting on fantastic shows with highly talented casts.

“Unfortunately, for a number of unforeseen reasons, we’ve lost some of our men for this year’s production, so if you fancy taking to the stage please join us for this fun-loving, classic of a show. No experience is necessary – just pop along and see how you like the group.

“We’re not just about shows – we put on social events, trips and concerts for our members to keep everyone in touch while we’re not performing. We’re always delighted to get some new faces for our family so get involved today.”

There will be six shows of Calamity Jane at the Palace Theatre from November 17 to November 21.

Rehearsals take place every Tuesday from 7.30pm until 10pm. Principle rehearsals are Thursday evenings.
