THE streets of Redditch will be turned red and white as an army of Christmas characters dash through the town centre spreading festive cheer.

People of all ages and physical abilities are being urged to embrace the seasonal spirit and sign up for Primrose Hospice's third annual Santa Dash.

The hospice, which has teamed up with Redditch Borough Council and The Kingfisher Shopping Centre, will be raising vital cash so it can continue to offer advice and support to patients living with life limiting illnesses and their families.

A spokesman from the charity said: "FREE Radio presenter Andy Goulding will be there starting off the dash for us. There will also be children’s entertainment and games throughout the day, to make sure it’s a really fun, family event.

"HumFree the Hamster, Free Radio’s mascot, and Charlie the Monkey from the Kingfisher Centre will also be coming along to join in the fun."

They added: "It’s the perfect way to kick start the festive season."

The Santa Dash, a one mile course, is on Sunday, December 7 starting at noon.
