RESIDENTS are being invited to a masquerade party, all for a worthy cause.

The event, organised by Boo-Chic Nails and Beauty, is at Steps Bar & Bistro in Headless Cross tonight Thursday, November 27 from 8pm.

The ball is aid of Des Walsh who sadly passed away after battling cancer, as well as to raise vital cash for Primrose Hospice.

Des, aged 48, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia last May.

Sadly, he recently lost his battle.

On the night there will be plenty to keep people entertained with music supplied by Twisted Funk, a welcome complimentary drink with tapas and nibbles, and a raffle with a number of fabulous prizes.

Des' partner Sharon said: "For friends new and old I want to thank you for the support and kind wishes since the sad passing of my partner Desmond, who sadly lost his battle with leukaemia this year aged just 48 years.

"We will be releasing 48 helium balloons in Desmond's honour."

Each balloon can be sponsored with all proceedings going to the independent charity, which offers advice and support to patients living with life limiting illnesses and their families.

Sharon added: "It's going to be an amazing night and one to remember."
