STUDENTS at Alcester Academy are getting into the festive spirit by organising a Christmas fair.

A team of students in year nine are arranging the event as part of their business studies course.

During the event there will be entertainment on offer with music and a tombola .

A range of festive food will also be available.

Liam Hall, business studies teacher at Alcester Academy, said: “The students are really responding to the challenge of running a live event, rather than simply learning the theory behind running a successful business.

“This experience has opened their eyes to the possibilities of starting their own business when they leave school.”

Students told Alcester MP Nadhim Zahawi about their plans for the fair when he recently visited the school.

The event will be held on Thursday, December 4 from 4.30 to 7.30pm.

Entry costs £1 per person on the door and includes a free mince pie.
