SINGER Gerry Marsden has been forced to pull out of the Sixties Gold tour because of illness.

Gerry, whose big hits included You’ll Never Walk Alone, is suffering from what has been described by his agent as a ‘serious medical condition’.

However, The Pacemakers will still be appearing on the tour with the final show of the tour scheduled to be at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on December 2.

Spencer Davis will be replacing Gerry Marsden. He boasts a string of hits from 1964 to 1968 including the No.1s Keep On Running and Somebody Help Me as well as the Top 10 hits Gimme Some Loving and I’m A Man.

The line-up for Sixties Gold nationwide tour, which got underway this month, will now be: The Searchers, Spencer Davis, PJ Proby, The Pacemakers, The Fortunes, Brian Poole and Chip Hawkes.
