HANBURY’s Jinney Ring craft centre is set to host its ninth annual sculpture trail.

Around 100 exhibits on a variety of themes including, humans, animals, birds, mythical figures and abstract art will be explored.

The art has been created by 25 sculptors from across the UK.

The event, which will run from Friday, August 22 to Tuesday, September 30, is aiming to be the most impressive yet.

During the event, for the first time, smaller works will now continue inside the Jinney Ring’s gallery.

Several sculptors will lead talks about their work at the centre during the course of the exhibition.

Trail organiser Carolyn Baldwin said: “Over the years our sculpture trails have attracted people from miles around and this year’s certainly won’t disappoint our visitors who can expect a fascinating exhibition by some highly-talented UK sculptors.”

Works by Worcestershire sculpting brother’s Adam and, Tom Barrett, whose father founded Artmetal, a business based in Hanbury, will be displayed at the centre.

Their father James was awarded a gold medal at the Royal Horticultural Society Malvern Spring Festival earlier this year.

Manchester-based copper specialist John Parker will also be exhibiting during the event.

The trail's signature piece is a large human head study carved from a diseased horse chestnut tree by Ledbury sculptor Ed Elliott, he will also display an angel made from charred wood.

Willow sculptors, Paul and Steph Simmons, from Pershore will feature in the trail as will mosaics by Malvern’s Victoria Harrison.

All sculptures on display are for sale but must remain in place for the duration of the exhibition.

The trail is open from 11am to 4.30pm.
