A REDDITCH man has raised £2,300 for charity.

Mark Kemp, along with his band, comprising brother Darren, dad Richard and other friends and relatives, recently held a fundraising concert for Alzheimer's Society at Batchley HDA.

The cash will go toward the charity, the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.

Mr Kemp said that he decided to put on the show, attended by Redditch mayor Councillor Pat Witherspoon, after the band played a few special shows, which were all very successful.

"Given how much we and our audiences enjoyed the shows, we decided that in 2014 we would put on another event, but this time to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society, which carry out fantastic work in relation to an illness very close to our hearts," he said.

Mr Kemp added: "A special thanks deserves to go the Alzheimers Society who all volunteered their time and talents to put on a great show."
