THE Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival will be returning to the beautiful setting of Moseley Park in Birmingham next week.

In 2013 the sun-soaked event was bought to a climatic close by the legendary Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, who had just released the track of the summer (Get Lucky) with Daft Punk.

Also performing across that weekend were the likes of Bonobo, Soul II Soul and Candi Staton to name a few, so its no surprise that tickets for this year's festival are flying out.

For the 2014 event the Friday night will be headlined by the eclectic New York trio Fun Lovin’ Criminals.

They will be joined by Syrian artist Omar Souleyman, The Dutch producer trio Kraak and Smaak, The Souljazz Orchestra, Sons of Kemet, Free School, Peaky Blinders, Albare Plays Gibson Guitars and Radio Riddler.

The Saturday night, curated by actor, comedian, author, TV presenter, and radio and club DJ Craig Charles, will be headlined by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and gospel legend Mavis Staples.

She will be joined by BBC Radio 6 summer hit makers Ibibio Sound Machine, Cody ChestnuTT, King Khan and The Shrines, Myron and E, Lack of Afro, Hannah Williams and The Tastemakers as well as many more including Craig Charles himself.

The final night of the festival will see the Earth Wind and Fire Experience featuring Al Mckay bring the festival to a rapturous close with hits such as Boogie Wonderland, Let’s Groove, and September.

They will be joined by jazz legend Courtney Pine, Ginger Baker (of Cream), Jazz Confusion which includes James Brown’s saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis, Heliocentrics, London Afrobeat Collective, Young Pilgrims and more.

If all that isn't enough once the festival comes to a close in the park (on Friday and Saturday night) there will be two official after parties taking place at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath - for those ticket holders not ready to stop.

The festival runs from July 11 to 13.
