LIKEABLE couple Jenny and Steve (Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbenger) are determined to make the most of a romantic weekend away together.

But events conspire against them when they inadvertently anger a group of loutish youths whose leader seems to almost be completely devoid of human feelings.

Steve tries to stand his ground against the gang but things soon take a violent turn for the worse.

What follows is a terrifying and completely compelling cat and mouse chase, where you can pretty much guess that a happy ending just isn’t around the corner.

The acting from the adults is great but the children playing the young louts absolutely steal the show.

Eden Lake is a horror where the violence and blood loss does not happen as a result of serial killers or zombies, but the horrendous actions of brutal kids. Frighening viewing.
