Kim Kardashian has said she and her family support her stepfather Bruce Jenner “100 per cent” as he goes through gender transition.

Her appearance on NBC’s Today show followed Bruce’s much-watched interview on ABC’s 20/20 when he publicly declared that he identifies himself as a woman.

“I think there is still an adjustment and there’s, you know, family therapy,” she told the show’s host Matt Lauer.

“I see reports that say, you know, ‘This one doesn’t support him,’ and, ‘This one’s over here,’ and my mum feels this way. And it’s all really so made up.

“We all really support him. Is it a hard adjustment? Yes,” she added.

“There were lots of family meetings. There was every emotion you can possibly imagine. There (were) hundreds of family meetings. We still have them.”

Kim said that in going public, her stepdad has found “inner peace and just pure happiness” and she congratulated the former Olympian for his ability to be his “true self”.

“Bruce… has the the biggest heart. I’m really happy for him that he’s living his life the way he wants to live it,” she continued.

“It’s not something that you or I could fully understand, but I don’t even think we have to. I think that when you are finally ready to be your true self then you’re prepared for anything,” Kim added.

Bruce, who was married to wife Kris and is step-father to four of her children – Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob Kardashian – and father to the pair’s daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, is set to tell all in a documentary series for E! about his new life as a woman.
