Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour is heading out on the road again for his first tour in almost a decade.

The rocker will also release a new solo album – his first since 2006â€ēs On An Island – at the same time.

The tour of the UK and Europe in September includes three nights at the Royal Albert Hall as well as gigs in a Roman amphitheatre in Croatia and venues in Italy, France and Germany.

The news comes a few months after Pink Floyd launched their first new album for more than two decades.

The band completed unreleased songs, which were first conceived in the early 1990s, for The Endless River.

They revisited songs which were originally written and recorded by the trio of Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason during the 1993 sessions for The Division Bell album. Keyboard player Richard died of cancer in 2008.
