STOURBRIDGE indie rockers Ned’s Atomic Dustbin found fame in 1991 with the release of their debut album - God Fodder.
The band paid tribute to the success of God Fodder at a one-off gig in at the Empire theatre in Shepherd’s Bush by playing a set featuring a performance of the entire album plus other songs from the band’s early days.
Around 1,500 fans packed the London venue to see the show, which was only the third time Ned’s had performed with their full original line up since splitting at the end of an American tour in 1995.
The Base Sessions was given exclusive access to record the gig and reaction from fans who came along to see the set which included songs the band had not performed for nearly 20 years.
BBC 6 Music DJ Steve Lamacq was on hand to play songs from the early 90s to warm up the crowd on a cold December night in the capital before the boys from the Black Country hit the stage.
Steve, a former NME journalist and long-time presenter on Radio One, took time out after the gig to tell Base Sessions reporter Martyn Smith what he thought of the show and Ned’s in 2010.
