WITH construction work starting on site next month, award-winning Black Country property developer Selbourne Homes has unveiled the first images of its new housing scheme in the grounds of Stourbridge’s historic Wordsley Manor.

Known as ‘To The Manor Bourne’, the development will feature 14 three-, four- and five-bedroom homes, all of which will be in keeping with the site’s proximity to the Grade Two listed manor house.

Situated off Meadowfields Close in Wordsley, each property will have its own unique character and designs range from cottage-style homes and a gatehouse, to luxury five bedroom houses which look like converted stable blocks.

Commenting on the scheme, Selbourne Homes’ managing director Gavin Warr said: “It’s taken us several years to get planning permission for this site and as part of this process we have produced an outstanding design. Every property will reflect the site’s history and location and it’s the perfect setting for buyers who are looking for something that’s a bit different.”

As part of the scheme, Selbourne Homes is carrying out work to protect and preserve the 18th century manor house and preliminary clearance work has already begun on the east wing, which is in a dilapidated condition and will be rebuilt as a direct result of the development.

The company is also working with consultant ecologists, Middlemarch Environmental, to ensure that the natural habitat for the area’s wildlife is protected.

Properties will be released for sale in August and prices range from £220,000 to £300,000. Would-be buyers can register their interest now by visiting www.selbournehomes.com or calling 01562 888161 and the first nine properties are due to be completed by the end of the year.
