Have a say on town’s future

REDDITCH residents, workers and even visitors are getting the opportunity to contribute towards the future development of the town.

Redditch Council is holding a consultation which will allow people to decide a number of key issues including where new housing developments are built.

The outcomes of the consultation will go toward the Issues and Options Document as well as the Sustainable Community Strategy for Redditch, both of which sets out the plan for the town over the next 20 years.

John Staniland, head of planning at the council, said: "This is an important and far-reaching chance for people to get involved in shaping the future of their town.

"Whether people live, work or visit Redditch, we want to hear their views over the next six weeks."

Up until Friday, June 20 people can go turn up to consultation events as well as fill in questionnaires online or in person.

It is hoped that by giving people the chance to say how they feel the town will be more accessible, culturally and ecologically rich and one of the safest in England.

The next consultation event will take place on Saturday, May 17 at Redditch Library from 9.30am-5pm.

To fill in the questionnaire online or for more information go to www.redditchbc.gov.uk.
