The RHS Chelsea Flower Show (May 19 to 23) is the greatest gardening show on earth, budding with designers' dreams and botanicals at their best.

So why not take inspiration, plant yourself outside and sip these fantastic floral finds...

:: BOUQUET OF ROSES

A rustic grape from Gaillac in Southern France, mauzac may not roll off the tongue but it produces a whole bunch of roses in Clos Rocailleux Braucol 2013, IGP Cotes Du Tarn, France (£11.99, www.redsquirrelwine.com). A well-made pink by a British couple who have created a fresh, summery rose with delectable wild, berry fruit flavours, a thread of minerality and enough complexity to find fortune in wine competitions with their first 2012 vintage.

:: AN ENGLISH GARDEN

Marks & Spencer's display will be showcasing the best of British floriculture, and what better way to toast their success than with a fabulous fizz from one of the country's most prestigious sparkling wine estates? Try Ridgeview Marksman Brut Rose 2013 Sparkling Wine, NV, England (£21, Marks & Spencer) which is a new listing to be distributed nationally and it oozes charm with its enticing aromas of wild strawberries, red berry fruit flavours and a hint of cream on the soft mousse. Not a wallflower by any standards.

:: GOOD EARTH

Otherwise known as 'the garden of South Africa', the Cape offers fragrant whites such as Hope Springs Viognier 2014, South Africa (£8.99, www.virginwines.co.uk) with wafts of white peach on the nose and an aromatic palate of lush white fruits and blossom, balanced by a delicate freshness on the finish. A wine to chime with the vibrant flowers of South Africa and the Kirstenbosch botanical garden - their 40th exhibit.

:: FLORAL, DARK, EARTHY TONES

Specifically designed to make you want to enjoy a glass of wine (as if you needed to be lured), New Zealand's most famous label and their Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2013, New Zealand (£35, Majestic), hosts the Cloudy Bay Garden in association with Vital Earth, and represents the affinities between gardening and winemaking. Reflecting the structure and architecture of the wines, corresponding plants in red, purples and plums mirror the wine's silky palate of red berry fruits, savoury herbs and hint of oak on the finish. A superb example.

:: BELSAZAR ROSE & TONIC

One of the most important ingredients on the cocktail circuit, vermouth (essential to a martini) comes in many guises from spicy to sweet. A fortified wine, Belsazar Rose Vermouth (£36.50, 70cl, www.harveynichols.com) is made from German pinot noir grapes infused with 20 homegrown botanicals and enriched with Schladerer fruit brandies. Mix its bittersweet taste with ice, tonic water and a zest of lemon and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how its exotic aromatics come to the fore.

:: ARTISAN GARDEN

The Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland may be renowned for its peaty, single malts but on the other side of the flavour map, the Bruichladdich Distillery has a well turned-out gin that's blessed with 31 botanicals - some of which have been hand-picked from around the island. Certain to delight green fingers, The Botanist Islay Dry Gin, Islay (£32.95, www.31dover.com) has distinct floral aromas, and is juniper forward with citrus notes, coconut and mint on the complex, creamy palate.

:: BEST IN SHOW

Voted best gin at the San Francisco World Spirit Awards 2014, Hayman's London Dry Gin (£17.99, 70cl, www.masterofmalt.com) is the 'perennial' of the gin market with its consistent balance of juniper, coriander, lemon and orange peel that makes this crisp , fresh-tasting, all-weather gin the one to reach for if you're looking for depth of flavour and classic juniper dryness. Just add tonic and a slice.

:: LIQUID NEWS

A-list agave... George Clooney, Rande Gerber (Mr Cindy Crawford) and businessman Michael Meldman have clubbed together to bring their award-winning tequila across the pond to help fuel the trend for tequila nights and Mexican cuisine.

Casamigos Tequila is named after Clooney and Gerber's house in Mexico and roughly translates to 'house of friends'. Originally created out of their desire to enjoy the best-tasting, smoothest tequila made from blue agaves, it's available in Blanco (rests for two months), Reposado (aged for seven months) and Anejo (aged for 14 months).

"Casamigos Blanco (£62.99) is crisp and clear, with subtle hints of vanilla and a smooth finish, Casamigos Reposado (£69.99) is smooth and clean with hints of caramel, and Casamigos Anejo (£77.99) is a perfect balance of sweetness from the Blue Weber agaves, layered with barrel oak and subtle hints of spice with a lingering smooth finish. All expressions are great served neat or on the rocks, and are the perfect base for premium cocktails," says Gerber.

Before going into the bottle, each batch is tasted and approved to ensure the highest quality and then numbered and signed by Gerber and Clooney.

"We worked on the creation of Casamigos Tequila with our master distiller in Jalisco, Mexico, for years and held many blind tastings until we knew we got it right. We've been drinking Casamigos with friends and family for more than six years," says Clooney.

Casamigos Tequila in Blanco, Reposado and Anejo (40% abv) is available in 75cl bottles from Selfridges nationwide and www.selfridges.com.
